To help bring esports into the world’s biggest EdTech show, the British Esports Association has announced a partnership with Bett 2022, which takes place in January 2022, and means they will have a dedicated esports feature in a prominent position on the show floor giving educators a chance to explore new possibilities for their students.

The British Esports Association, a not-for-profit organization launched in 2016, supports and promotes esports in the UK. It now has the opportunity to present some of the positive benefits of esports to global educators at a large-scale event.

Educators will have a chance to discover the impact esports can have on young people. They will also be able to learn more about the importance of promoting digital skills. Staff from British Esports will also feature on panels throughout the weekend. There will be daily Rocket League matches taking place between ‘British Esports Student Champs’, too.

The Head of Broadcast and Events, Elliot Bond, is proud to represent the esports industry at Bett 2022, stating: ‘It’s a huge opportunity for those interested in gaming to learn how education and esports can be brought together to inspire and motivate young people.’

British Esports will be creating content in the run-up to the event for the Bett Esports Hub, offering education-focused materials aimed at promoting the positives of esports to educators.

We had the opportunity to write about the British Esports Association recently, highlighting the Cops vs Kids pilot scheme. This scheme used esports to strengthen bonds between young people and police officers, to great effect. Bett 2022 is an exciting opportunity to introduce educators to the positives of esports.

Bett 2022 will be taking place in London from the 19th – 21st January 2022 at the ExCeL Centre. You can find out more about it on their website.
