GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch File Size Revealed

Published on:

Finally Nintendo Switch gamers will be able to play Grand Theft Auto on their hybrid console from November 11th and now the file size needed for GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition (bit wordy eh?) has been revealed. (Source report from Nintendo Life.)

GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch File Size Needed

25.4GB Required

The digital release comes on November 11th and the file size required is 25.4GB so if you are planning on grabbing the digital version it might be time to check your storage space. There is nothing worse than downloading a new game only to see that flashing little cross telling you that you have insufficient space so it is best to be prepared.

You Could Wait For Physical

If you prefer your games to be physical then you may opt to wait a little bit longer until December 6th for that version although the price might be even higher if Rockstar Games choose to pass on the costs associated with a 32GB Nintendo Switch cartridge.
When Rockstar Games released L.A. Noire on the Switch they opted to go with a smaller sized cartridge which did reduce cost to the consumer for the game but meant you still needed to clear space on your Switch’s internal memory or purchase a new SD card. If they go down this route it might be you can get better value and Last Word on Gaming will keep you updated on the situation as it evolves in the coming weeks.

The Last Word on Gaming Viewpoint

On board memory has always been a contentious issue when it comes to the Nintendo Switch and even with the new OLED model’s 64GB it still leaves little space for you to store many games so SD cards are always going to be an integral part of your Switch collection.

For now I am waiting to see how the costs work out and will make a decision from there but one thing is certain and that is that this a day one purchase for me!

Are you looking forward to playing some GTA on your Switch? Is the file size too much for you?
