Silent Hill 2 Gets an M Rating from ESRB

Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the most anticipated horror games of 2024, yet the game doesn’t have an exact release window. Recently, the rating of the game went live on the ESRB page, suggesting that the game is in the final stages of development.

ESRB is the organization that helps buyers see what age groups the content of the game is suitable for. So, the ESRB won’t rate the game until it is in the final stages of development because they have to review everything from start to finish. Therefore, we may finally get an exact date for when the game will be released as well.

Same as the original game, Silent Hill 2 Remake received an “M for Mature” rating because of “Blood and Gore, Language, Sexual Themes, and Violence.” In a more detailed description, it is mentioned that the game uses realistic gunfire as well as cries of pain and blood-splatter effects.

The gruesome aspect of the game is suggested to come from some enemy types having “body parts sewn together,” and the sexual themes are mostly explored in the context of the story.

However, fans and developers were not happy with the latest footage of the Silent Hill 2 remake. The gameplay was far from the origins of the main game, and the visual quality was mediocre at best.

Konami has not released an AAA game in more than a decade, and we have to see whether they are up to delivering a game that meets the standards of the game.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC in 2024.
