The success of Stardew Valley is a lovely sight. The indie farming simulator is one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch’s catalog. It is never really represented on physical gaming charts due to its limited physical release. Nonetheless, it is great to see that it continues to have something of a cult following online all these years after its release.
Among Us is an interesting addition to the list. Articles have been written for about a year now touting the fall of Among Us from its position as the hottest game going. But it would seem that the game still has interest from Nintendo owners with it gaining more downloads in December than Breath of the Wild. While major content creators may have moved on from Among Us it is still a game being played by creators to this day as evidenced by its continued sales numbers. I will be intrigued to see if it remains a top 15 game as more and more major releases come out.
The final point, people love Mario, four of the top 15 most downloaded Switch games in December were from the Mario series. Remind me never to doubt the plumber again.
