Award Winning Ori Now Available As Physical Collection

Published on:

The award winning Ori titles are available on October 12th as one collection on Nintendo Switch retailing at $49.99 in the US and £39.99 in the UK at most retailers. I am going to take you through why, if you don’t already have either of these games, you should grab this as soon as you can.

Award Winning Ori Comes to Nintendo Switch as One Collection

Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps

The Blind Forest scored 90 and Will of the Wisps 93 on Metacritic and both have become must play games on consoles but always felt perfect for Nintendo’s hybrid juggernaut.

For those new to the titles then you take control of Ori who is a small white guardian spirit and also Sein who is the eyes and light of the Forest’s Spirit Tree. If you are a fan of 2D Metroidvania style games then both are perfect for you to add to your collection.

Picking up new abilities as you traverse each stage will help strengthen your spirit and you can also create what are known as ‘soul links’ that become your checkpoint. Rather than having set checkpoints as you would expect in a platform game, it is a refreshing idea to have to create them yourself and puts additional onus on the player to think strategically about where to place them

Rather than just bringing out the same repackaged game, the sequel builds on the first title and adds one of the most incredible game soundtracks I have ever heard.

Yes it is 2D once more but it’s a 2D open world that seems to stretch forever with every step of the 2D environment there for you to enjoy, explore and interact with. From soggy marshes to sticky floors the design is sublime and is an experience that no gamer should have missed.

The Last Word on Gaming Viewpoint

The Ori Collection comes in at great value for both games and owning a physical version is a great bonus for collectors. Both titles ooze quality and if you have never got around to playing either or both or just missed them altogether I cannot recommend this collection highly enough!
