It was rumoured for while now the Nintendo Direct June 2026 has taken place. Here at Last Word on Gaming, we have the biggest announcements covered as the Nintendo Switch 2 starts its second year with a slew of new games to look forward to!
Here Comes Switch 2 Year 2 – Nintendo Direct June 2026 Announcments
Let’s A Go!
First up in this hotly anticipated Nintendo Direct was a title for Nintendo Switch and it was Rhythm Heaven Groove. (Rhythm Paradise Groove in PAL regions). A simple yet addictive rhythm game that always tend to do very well. Very much a family focused fun game with over 80 new games included. New modes can be unlocked and spells can be used to destroy monsters as long as you have the right groove! Rhythm Heaven Groove launches on Switch and Switch 2 on July 2nd 2026.
Onimusha Way of the Sword comes to Switch 2 on September 25th with motion controls and a game that already looks fabulous, arrives September 25th, another title that arrives the same date as all other versions! More good news for Switch 2 fans.
Drag0n’s Dogma 2 is bringing an expanded version to Switch 2 on October 9th so there is plenty of action gaming to be had this year.
PlayStation 5 favourite Stella Blade is coming to Switch 2! It had been rumoured and it looks like the game is shaping up well for Nintendo’s hybrid device. No confirmed date but this one is slated to release in 2026. A really great announcement!
Orbitals is a Switch 2 title that arrives later this year and has the look of a Japanese cartoon. Panic’s Big Walk is also confirmed for Switch 2 this year.
A free s0ftware update for the successful Pokemon Pokopia which allows you to dive into the sea is coming August 2026. Also an expansion DLC is available 0n the ship today with more to come as the year goes on!
Fire Emblem, Ninjala and Donkey Kong
Next we enter the heroic games where the winner is granted one wish. This is is one of the most anticipated Switch 2 games and it is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Can you turn the tide of battle when this arrives September 17th?
It’s a return for Ninjala in Ninjala 2. Stranded on a planet, this open world adventure sees you fighting to get back home and your ninja gum is vital to your survival. 4 Ninjas can team up and the first part arrives in Spring 2027.
A DK Challenge event comes to Nintendo Switch Online where you face challenges across a number of Donkey Kong titles. Gain collectable cards in these limited time challenges. The challenges start today and run through until September this year. Emerald Rush also sees a limited time Mario cr0ssover, again starting today, September 9th 2026! It’s time to go Kong Krazy on Nintendo Switch 2!
JJK Survivation later this year on NS2 and fans of Vampire Survivors will love this one!
Big Hitters Coming to Switch 2
Lords of the Fallen II is coming to Switch 2. Melee attacks galore and a hero just rise for a god to fall. Arrives later this year.
Lies of P: Complete Edition arrives on Switch 2! A hugely popular game along with the prequel will be available to play on the go!
Space Marine II is another big hitter coming to Switch 2.
Devil May Cry: 5 with 60 fps confirmed launches on Jne 23rd with pre order live later today!
Xenoblade Chronicles Fans Rejoice – The Old and the New are Coming!
We are getting 60fps versions of Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2 and 3 with new additional content for each of the titles with more details said to be coming at a later date. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 edition is available digitally today and physically on July 30th. Not only that, a new game is confirmed to be in production with the opening moments being shown as part of this packed Nintendo Direct. Xenoblade Genesis is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive arriving in 2027.
Back to WuHu Island
Switch Sports Resort is back with a Nintendo Switch 2 game, meaning it’s time to to get those joy c0n ready for basketball, Golf, Boxing, Thumb Wars, Skateboarding, Prop Plane and more! The use of the joy con looks exciting and it’s a good time or head back to Wu Hu Island – arriving October 22nd! Only on Switch 2.
Runescape is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as you face down the Dragon Queen. Crafting and survival is vital in RuneScape: DragonWilds coming September 15th.
Mini games and board games are the order of the day in Hello Kitty Party Land which arrives a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

Turn 2 monsters into one more powerful ally and grow your own unique team as adventure and fun comes to Switch 2 in Dragon Quest Monsters: Withered World. Fans of Dragon Quest and Pokemon will be well catered for with this one!
Summer 2026 sees a closed network test arriving for a much anticipated Switch 2 exclusive in Duskbloods. Since it was announced, details have been few and far between but it’s fair to say that this is one game that is hoped to be a huge success! Hopefully we can learn more later this summer!
Another look at Splatoon Raiders, the Switch 2 exclusive coming June 2026. This is a single player focused game, so an alternative adventure to the usual Splatoon focus on multiplayer battles. Do not underestimate the Salmonoids and make sure you grow your upgrades so you can get stronger and use your arsenal to splay your way to glory! A Splatoon Raiders direct arrives June 30th and special joycons will also release alongside the game.
Chapter 5 of Deltarune – a free update to the immensely popular Deltarune arrives June 24th so not long to wait for this one!
Metaphor: ReFantazio is coming to Switch 2, November 12th. A game many have been asking for and now it is finally confirmed!
Minecraft is a getting a Nintendo Switch 2 edition in 2026 and you can carry all of your original Switch progress with you! So it’s nearly time to get digging once more!
In Your Heart
The Kingdom Hearts collection is coming to Switch 2 and not a cloud version in sight! If you did happen to buy the cloud games, you can transfer your save data to the new editions which is great news! Disney fans rejoice! Not 0nly that but Kingdom Hearts 4 is heading to your favourite Nintendo hybrid as well! Arriving from launch on Switch 2. Date TBC.
And now for One More Thing…
It has been rumoured and now it is a reality….. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is coming to Switch 2! The hype for this one is real and it already looks amazing! Surely one of the greatest Zelda games of all time and it is coming in 2026! A rebirth is coming and more details are coming later this year!
New CEO Speaks as Nintendo Direct June 2026 Closes
Devon Pritchard, new CEO of Nintendo spoke to fans at the end of the direct, talking about her excitement for games and leads into Treehouse:Live so you can see some more of certain games released in today’s Nintendo Direct!
That was a jammed packed Nintendo Direct with reveals and Switch 2 gamers are going to eat well in 2026 and beyond! Switch 2 has only just turned 1 year old and we are seeing more games confirmed for 60fps in both TV and hand-held modes as devs are getting more attuned with the hardware.
