The British Esports association has, on October 12th, announced there will be a second World Esports Day which will take place on Saturday 23rd October and is aimed at bringing people together for a global celebration of all things Esports.

The first World Esports Day took place in 2020 and this year the aim is to really get the message out there that esports does have a positive impact on society and communities with diversity playing a key factor, something Last Word on Gaming fully supports.
Competitive Gaming
Competitive gaming will also be at the heart of this years event with streaming content, tournaments and other areas that help to build the esports wider community.
Raising Money For COVAX
The British Esports Association backs the World Esports Day event along with the Singapore Esports Association, The Global Esports Association as well as streaming site Twitch.
This year, money raised will be going to COVAX and the British Esports Association had this to say;
The aim is to ensure that COVId-19 vaccinations are made available all around the world.
