Kaif Ali June 29, 2026

Insomniac Games has become the savior of all Marvel fans who enjoy gaming. Ever since Marvel’s Spider-Man hit the PS4 consoles across the globe, the studio has been on a generational run. Spidey fans finally got what they wanted: an open-world game with a heartfelt story, smooth combat. and satisfying traversal. The first-party studio then went on to develop Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both a few years apart with decent overall player reception. Now, they are developing Marvel’s Wolverine, which is set to release on September 15, 2026. But if you are a Marvel fan who has liked these Insomniac Marvel games, we have a sweet update for you!

Insomniac Games’ Leaked Upcoming Project

Evan Filarca, a trusted source when it comes to all things related to Insomniac Games, reported on his X account that it was teased that Insomniac Games was working on another Marvel game. Fans would naturally think that they must be working on either Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, which will eventually come out, or Marvel’s Wolverine, a game that they are heavily marketing at the moment. However, Evan confirmed that the title is different from both these games!

A fan then pointed out that it must be a “Venom” or “X-Men” game since they are both connected to the existing Spider-Man and confirmed Wolverine titles. The gaming enthusiast then confirmed that it was something else entirely.

When Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 came out, everyone was surprised to see Venom as a playable character, even if it was for a scripted segment of the game. The Wraith side quest storyline also strongly hinted at Cletus Kasady becoming Carnage. Some fans believed Venom may become playable yet again in a DLC story expansion. Although we did get a DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it wasn’t what fans wanted it to be. Online reports suggested that Venom: The Lethal Protector will have its own standalone title like Miles Morales in 2020. A title that is reportedly still in development at Insomniac. As for X-Men, some other reports claimed that Insomniac Games has signed a deal with Marvel Games to develop an X-Men title if Wolverine is faced with a monetary success. Since Marvel’s Wolverine will revolve around Team X in the absence of the X-Men, a separate title will be perfect for all mutant fans.

Since Evan Filarca has reported that a separate Marvel game is under development, fans are free to let their imagination run wild. Some likely titles that the studio can develop are Avengers, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Daredevil, and Punisher. This is because all of these are beloved IPs and are already set up in Insomniac’s version of the Marvel universe.
