Pokemon Unite Shutting Down After 5 Years

TiMi Studio Group and the Pokemon Company announce the end of service for Pokemon Unite, leaving shockwaves through the MOBA community.

It has been a bumpy ride for Pokemon Unite this year. Following a series of major in-game changes, the game recently lost a massive amount of its player base.

The competitive scene of the game has also seen major changes recently. The game recently made the decision to part ways with the WCS circuit and announced the Aeos Crown 2027 competition.

While these weren’t any major hints towards the game’s plan of discontinuing services, a recent wave of free in-game licenses raised an alarm in the community.

On 22nd October 2026, @ElChicoEevee, one of the reliable dataminers in the community, shared that an End of Service announcement is coming soon.

Despite this major leak and obvious hints, a lot of players were still optimistic that the game would take a new turn for the better instead of shutting down its servers.

But the confirmation came on 27th October 2026, when Pokemon Unite announced End of Service on 23rd March 2027.

What’s Next for Pokemon Unite Until the End of Service?

Pokemon Unite shared its appreciation with the players for their engagement with the game for 5 years. Along with that, some of the key dates were shared.

From 27th October 2026, the Aeos gems sale will stop. The date will also see the cancellation of new memberships and automatic renewals.

On 12th November, 2026, the game will see one final update. In this update, a new event will be introduced where players will be able to collect licenses and holowears that they have missed so far.

The Pokemon Unite AEOS Crown 2027 event, which was announced before, will go on as scheduled.

If you want to have a record of all your battle data and your collection of licenses and holowears, you must download the library data before 23rd March 2027.

Last Word on Pokemon Unite Shutting Down

The biggest reason behind Pokemon Unite’s current situation is believed to be the game’s negligence towards community feedback. For a long time, popular creators and competitive players raised their voices about changes that can make the game better. Yet, none of these concerns were addressed.

Since Day 1, Pokemon Unite had the potential to become one of the biggest titles in MOBA. From casual players to eSports athletes, everybody saw the potential of the game right away. Unfortunately, Pokemon Unite couldn’t live up to its full potential.
