The God Quarry joined the existing map pool in Marvel Rivals in Season 10. Although it wasn’t there when the season began, NetEase added it two weeks later, on 24th September UTC. It’s a Domination map that was confirmed during the Dev Vision Volume itself. The last time that the game had a Domination was back in Season 3, called the Celestial Husk, adding to the Klyntar map theme.
God Quarry, although independent of any existing map themes in the game, fits Gorr the God Butcher and the Necrosword perfectly into the game. Thor’s boogeyman is building the “God Bomb,” and the heroes must work together to stop him. However, picking the right heroes for the job is essential.
The Right Team For The God Quarry in Marvel Rivals
Not every map features the same type of composition. Similarly, players can’t just play whatever they want on this map and pray to the One Above All to make it work. So, which heroes should you take to battle with you? Well, if you are a dive main, you are in luck; and if you don’t know how to play dive heroes, it’s time to start learning!
The God Quarry, being a Domination map, may seem like the perfect setup for a “bunker” team composition specialising in anti-dive and area denial. However, except for certain parts of the map, these heroes won’t bring much value, especially not on the objective. The reason? God Quarry is built to favor divers and flankers and the main objective point doesn’t have enough choke points to help your team bunker up.
The perfect team composition on this map would be as follows:
- VANGUARDS: Venom, Captain America, Hulk, Angela, Rogue, Thor
- DUELISTS: Daredevil, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Magik, Gorr the God Butcher, Star-Lord, Psylocke, Wolverine, Black Cat
- STRATEGISTS: Jeff the Land Shark, Rocket Raccoon
There are specific elements on the map that, when Chrono-Vision is activated, can be seen glowing in red. Similar to the glowing red sections of the maps in the Empire of Eternal Night theme, these sections transform and rebuild into something new when destroyed. However, unlike those Season 1 maps, when you damage the glowing red chunks shown through Chrono-Vision on The God Quarry map, they transform every time into new constructs back and forth every time, allowing you to deploy fresh strategies and take the “bunker” team comps by surprise, even as a dive comp in Marvel Rivals.
