Insomniac Games did the unthinkable with Wolverine. Following three successful titles in the Spider-Man franchise, the Sony first-party studio finally missed the shot. Although their new full-priced AAA title opened with a good Metacritic score, it wasn’t what the audience was expecting. The reviews, though not entirely negative, swayed the internet into disliking the latest Wolverine game. However, there were also criticisms that Insomniac Games acknowledged and is potentially working towards in future patches. One such criticism also seems to be under improvement at the studio.
Insomniac Games Executive Asks For Feedback on Wolverine Game
One of the criticisms of the game was about the cosmetics. Although having customizable claws was an impressive option to have on launch day, there were some complaints about the suits in the game. A major part of these complaints was the “Yellow Variant” suit, which was essentially the “MCU suit” of the game, as seen in the Deadpool & Wolverine 2024 film.
In the new Wolverine game, Insomniac put the full-sleeved version of the suit. However, not all players were fond of this appearance. Naturally, the matter took to social media, where James Stevenson, the Director of Community and Marketing at Insomniac Games, found the tweet.
The tweet contained two images of Hugh Jackman’s iconic Deadpool & Wolverine suit from the climax of the film. This is the first time that the Hollywood superstar ever wore the iconic Wolverine mask. The highlight of this post was that it was sleeveless because of the action sequences throughout the film. Fans seem to want this alternate version as an option to the Yellow Variant costume, too.
Stevenson replied to the tweet on X, asking if this is what everyone wants. The community came together, united, and affirmed the belief that almost everyone would appreciate it if the developers could add this as a cosmetic option.
Considering the delicate situation surrounding the game, James Stevenson asking for feedback directly is unlikely to be ignored. So, an update might be on its way to all the players who want to rock a fresh look in the game.
Insomniac has been known to add cosmetics to the games as part of community requests. This kind of positive response may prove well for their upcoming big project as well.
