Discounty Vermin Ties Walkthrough
This quest is difficult because the prompts and conversations don’t provide obvious answers, but they do leave clues. Take Barbara for example, when talking to her about the rats she mentions them needing a home. Seems like a useless conversation piece right? Turns out that is THE CLUE, and the harbour rats don’t need to be fed, they need a home. Each one has something like that where the dialogue contains a vague clue that we have to pick up on.
Recycling Centre
Cheese.
Ted says he feeds the rats their favourite food and well…common sense dictates that he meant cheese.
Sheep
Energy Drink
The sheep you find and ask Karl about is sleepy and tired. I figured out pretty quickly I should either give it an energy drink or a soda, energy drink was the correct move.
Farm
Oats, Apple, Fishy Sticks
This is another subtle one but during conversations and by looking around the player can figure out that the meal made for the “Nesse” was a big hit with the rats. So on Karl’s farm to feed the rats, recreate the special oatmeal for the Nesse in the rat bowl.
Pier
Pink Dollhouse
As I mentioned above, Barbara’s dialogue leaves a hidden queue. She mentions that these rats need somewhere to go home, but we can’t just put a hole in the wall at random so that’s a seemingly useless clue. Turns out these ones need a dollhouse bought from the antique shop and placed on the grates.
Highway
Fishy Waste
Yeah, for some reason, the fish along the highway want a barrel of the fishy waste Barbara produces and makes you get rid of. This does actually get mentioned by Aunt Tellar but really who could have expected she was being so literal?
