Overall the response to Tekken 8 has been very positive. Much of the praise has been directed at the game’s overall direction and fighting mechanics as well as the depth of characters to choose from. The overall online multiplayer expierance has also been praised by many critics. Overall critics have put Tekken 8 alongside some of the best games in the series and even drew some comparisons to Tekken 3. The overall graphics and art style were also a frequent point of praise.
Although the game received overall praise, some criticism was aimed at the overall stories that play out for each character. The lack of some solo modes such as time attack and survival also drew criticism from various critics.
Criticism aside, the game is seen as an overall successful entry to the legendary fighting franchise.
