What we Know
The game’s developers have been keeping players hyped up with regular updates on the features of the game. The first highlighted the road tools, useful for connecting your city and making sure everyone can get from point A to point B. This being showed off so early indicates it will be a well-functioning mechanic.
To follow on from that we saw a dive into traffic AI which should pair well with the road tools. Since then we’ve seen a feature showcase for public transportation and cargo, zoning, signature buildings, city services, and the latest ones on how to keep the electricity and water systems running in your city.
Maps have been shown to be almost five times bigger than in the previous game. That alongside the features shown so far have led to a lot of excitement from onlookers. This game appears to be the most detailed and interesting city-builder game of all time with every small feature accounted for so far.
DLC & Modding
While nothing is officially announced on these front the team behind Cities: Skylines 2 has continued to release DLC for the previous game as recently as two months ago. This bodes well for their upcoming release as it is sure to be supported with post-release content for the long term.
They also seem to be very open to the modding community, even spotlighting the best mods for their games. One would assume this continues for Skylines 2 which can add a whole new world of depth to the game.

It was announced recently that the game will be releasing on multiple platforms in late 2023. The title will release for the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on October 24, 2023. The first title in the series released in 2015, marking an 8-year wait for a sequel which has unsurprisingly caused a huge outburst of support for this sequel.
