Dimer
This is a must-have badge if you want to make any impact as a playmaker. This provides a boost to shooters if you can find them while open for a shot. This makes it more likely that your passes lead to drained shots and will give you a handful more assists per game.
Floor General
This is another badge that improves the attacking abilities of your teammates. With this one you will find your teammates are a bit better at shooting and scoring at the rim, which will again improve your assist numbers.
Needle Threader
There are times you will be forced to make passes with a small window of success. With the needle threader badge these are more likely to end up in the hands of a teammate as opposed to getting picked off by a pesky defender. This is the first badge on my list that improves your own abilities as opposed to buffing a teammate but I consider it essential.
Bail Out
If used properly this can be quite the weapon. Bail Out makes it more likely for you to successfully pass while taking a shot or a layup. This is very useful for setting up open shooters if the defence collapses when you drive to the rim. It can also be useful on jumpshots if the defense get sucks in but it is more likely you’ll find an open shooter when going for a layup.
Handles for Days/Unpluckable/Vice Grip
As the point guard, you’ll find defenders trying to strip the ball away from you at all times. These badges all help you with this to various degrees as they make it less likely that you’ll lose the ball which is pretty essential to making plays.
