Every year an incredible amount of games come out and there’s no way to play all of them. However, there is certainly quite a number that stand out above the rest when it comes to the end of the year. Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison are joined by Randy Isbelle in attempting to do just that and select their 25 Best Games of 2021, with of course the top spot gaining the coveted title of “Game of the Year.”
Each of the three console makers had their slew of hits that could potentially land one of their games in that number one place. Third-party publishers also had some major titles come to market that gained critical and commercial success as well. However, if there was any contingent that definitely proved its own point in 2021 it was the indie game space. So many of the year’s finest came from small studios or perhaps you could call others in the AA tier. Regardless of how one frames the year, this was another tremendous year for games. Perhaps it was devoid of a large range of AAA blockbusters due to delays caused by the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the breadth of gaming certainly proved its worth in their stead.
Join us as we look back at the year that was, each host gives out their Top 10 Games of 2021, and then the debate begins in earnest in constructing those defining 25 games of 2021.
