The Last of Us 2 stays at the top of the GFK Software Gaming charts despite challenges from Bravely Second: End Layer and SpongeBob Squarepants: Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated.
The horror title continues its stay at the top of the charts which is probably not a surprise. However, a number of new entries have made a good run at the top of the chart. Bravely Second: End Layer has been received well and did well to come in at number to 2. SpongeBob Squarepants: Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated also impressed to round off the top three.
New Entries Shine Strongly
Having reviewed SpongeBob Squarepants: Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated and found it to be an enjoyable experience despite some flaws we are not surprised to see it do well in the gaming charts. However, a top-three position is probably above our expectations despite its obvious popularity.
A number of other new entries entered the top 40 this week. A handful of Nintendo games entered in the 30s, including Teddy Together and LBX: Little Battlers Experience. From 505 Games, Assetto Corsa Competizione entered in at number five which also an impressive first week for the racing title.
Biggest Risers and Fallers
Again not much movement in the charts this week. Unsurprisingly the hype around the Last of Us 2 has seen the Last of Us Remastered climb strongly. This title moved up 8 places from 17 to 9.
In terms of fallers, a number of games moved a handful of places but two games dropped nine spots down the charts. Pokemon Sword fell out of the top 10 and dropped down to 18. Whilst Lego Harry Potter Collection continued to fall down to 34 from its spot at 25 last wee.
