The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026. This free upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will bring more than 30 changes and improvements, including a refined transmogrification system, new finishers, better monster behavior, as well as upgraded animations, camerawork, and combat.

Last Word on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be released as a free upgrade for all pre-existing owners of the original game on September 29, 2026. You can install it on your desired platform and experience the classic RPG with improved visuals, systems, and mechanics. CD Projekt Red, at the moment, hasn’t revealed any fresh quests exclusive to the remaster.
Remasters have been a trend in the gaming industry for over a decade. Apart from making new releases, the developers gauge the popularity of a particular title and release refined versions to keep players hooked to a franchise. Resident Evil 4: Remake, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and the Grand Theft Auto trilogy are examples of how classic games can be modernized for audiences with massive changes in graphics and gameplay, but little or no change to the storylines.
A remaster taps into the player’s expectations of a classic game with modern visuals, responsiveness, and mod support. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is expected to pull long-time fans back to their consoles and desktops to re-experience the journey of Geralt and Ciri as they use steel for humans and silver for monsters!
