314 Arts, an independent German game development studio, announced NightRunner. Set to arrive in 2027, the game is under development right now, and its public playtest is planned for September.
In the game, players are dropped into a solar apocalypse where they are tasked with collecting loot while overcoming challenges to try to escape with their lives. Players are required to work together to take on dangerous tasks and protect their train as they attempt to escape with their collected loot.
Inspired by Escape from Tarkov, if the players’ group fails to reach the extraction point, they’ll lose all their progress on that run.
314 Arts, who were the brilliant minds behind Projekt Z: Beyond Order, are preparing for the game’s public playtest in September.

Test Your Skills in these Four Distinct Modes in NightRunner
In this game, making your decision on the right combination of Runner Kits is a must. The game has four distinct modes, and across all your synergy with your teammates determines everything:
- Train Jobs: Here, you and your allies will travel in an armored train through dangerous areas. Your primary tasks here are to gather loot, fix the train (if needed), and defend the train from the mutant waves. The challenge is that you have to do all of these tasks simultaneously.
- Transition Jobs: Here, the train is swapped for a heavily armed ship. You won’t have to stop to get supplies anymore. But along this rough path, you will continuously fight with your teammates. A huge haul of rewards awaits you if you are successful.
- Dungeons: This is classic PVE. Here you will hunt for the rarest loot as you take on massive bosses. Teamwork is a must, as if you lose, you will have to leave everything you have collected behind.
- Endless: Here, all you have to do is survive as long as you can against the endless waves of enemies. The difficulty gets harder over time.
