Insomniac Wolverine is far from a perfect game, and the world realized it when it was review-bombed by critics before release. Although there weren’t enough negative reviews about the game, allowing it to sit at a fair 77 score on Metacritic, some issues dragged Insomniac Studios down for not doing a good enough job with the game. One of the major criticisms, however, has now been fixed with a “toggle off” feature!

Insomniac Delivers Hotfix To Remove Annoying Wolverine Feature

A major criticism of the Insomniac Wolverine game was how the studio decided to bring the “Senses” to life. As all X-Men fans know, Logan’s mutant ability also allows him to have heightened senses, letting him track scent trails with precision and hear things others can’t. But when Insomniac Studios translated these powers into visual cues, they were a bit too much for the internet to handle, sending gamers into a frenzy about how “hand-holdy” everything looked. Well, the first-party Sony developer changed it. The Senses in the main story were reduced overall. And now, an even bigger update has been deployed, allowing players the agency to completely remove the Senses!

A few hours ago, Insomniac Games deployed v. 1.001.006, which fixes some bugs that players across the globe were facing, including a glitch where Wolverine would get stuck sliding down a tree during the Jean Grey chase in “The One That Got Away” mission. However, the highlight of the update is the fact that the Scent Trail, Audio Clues, and Nightmare Door Roots have been given a “toggle” feature for the following objectives:

Whiskey Bottles
Material Crates
Nightmare Doors

Wolverine’s senses were not allowing players to miss these optional objectives. While that wouldn’t normally be a big problem, Insomniac’s latest title is already a linear story experience with little exploration possible. Add visual and audio cues to that, and you are basically not missing a thing when playing the game.
