Scopely finally confirmed the reduced frequency of Team GO Rocket balloons in Pokemon GO, and the fans are not happy.

Shortly after the Twilight Trails season began, many Pokemon GO trainers started to see a reduced appearance of Team GO Rocket balloons on a regular basis.

While trainers used to get 4 Team GO Rocket balloons every day, players worldwide recently reported seeing only one daily.

Along with @Nakibo90 and @ItsFleeceKing, many Pokemon GO players took to their social media to bring this issue to Scopely’s attention.

While Scopely addressed these concerns right away, their explanation did little to satisfy an increasingly frustrated Pokemon GO community.

Truth Behind Team GO Rocket Balloon Changes in Pokemon GO

On 12th September 2026, @ScopelyExplore took to their official X account to address Team GO Rocket balloon frequency changes.

The American video game developer and publisher clarified that the changes surrounding the GO Rocket balloon frequency were intentional and not a bug.

Before ending their statement, Scopely mentioned that during the Rocket takeover and some other events, players will have boosted Team GO Rocket balloon appearances.

“Trainers, we’d like to confirm that the reduced frequency of Team GO Rocket balloons is an intentional adjustment. Please note that balloon frequency may still increase during Team GO Rocket takeovers or other events,” said Scopely.

Shortly after this statement, trainers around the world shared their opinions on the matter in the comment section of the post. One of the respected players and Pokemon GO content creators, @JT_Valor, also voiced his opinion on this change.

This change is a massive blow for the remote players who rely on the Team GO Rocket balloons daily to build their Rocket Radars, complete quests, and rescue shadow legendary Pokemon.
