The major Steam database leak that occurred over the past few hours exposed information about dozens of games that have yet to reach the market. The flaw allowed third-party tracking services to access achievement lists that were supposed to remain private, revealing details about known titles as well as the existence of nearly 20 projects that have yet to be announced.

Alleged NDA Breaches and Unannounced Projects in Steam Database Leak

Among the discoveries are references to a new Avengers game, a project based on Dune, two Warhammer titles, as well as productions related to Twin Peaks, Sonic, Slime Rancher, Brawl Stars, Stellaris, Candy Crush, Heroes of Newerth, and Tropico 7. Some listings also point to projects involving ALF and other well-known properties.

The leak was not limited to secret games. Achievement lists for already announced titles such as Judas, Kingdom Hearts IV, Control Resonant, Ace Combat 8, Gears of War: E-Day, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Stranger Than Heaven were also exposed. In some cases, the descriptions revealed story details, locations, and mechanics that had not yet been officially disclosed.

The issue has already been fixed, preventing additional private information from being accessed through the same method. However, the data obtained while the flaw was active has already been recorded and is circulating online.

It is also worth noting that SteamDB is not an official Valve service, but rather an independent platform that tracks publicly available information from Steam’s database.

For the companies affected, the biggest problem goes beyond spoilers. Nearly 20 projects had their existence revealed ahead of schedule, potentially disrupting campaigns that may have been planned for events, showcases, or standalone announcements.

At the same time, an entry in the database does not guarantee that a particular project will eventually reach stores. Some may be in early development, use placeholder names, or may even have been cancelled. What the leak does confirm is that these records existed within the systems accessed at that time, and for several of them, that alone represents a significant revelation.
