Doctor Doom has been set up as the big bad of Marvel Rivals so far. The 6v6 team-based hero shooter released on December 6, 2024. At the time of the release, Victor Von Doom was the overarching villain, manipulating plot points from the shadows for personal gain. That hasn’t changed until now. However, the second year of Marvel Rivals is coming to a close, and fans may finally get Doctor Doom as a playable hero. Amidst all the role predictions, we have a leak that helps us speculate which role he may be arriving in.
Will Doctor Doom Have A Dual Kit in Marvel Rivals?
Back in Season 8.5, dataminers leaked a few additional details for upcoming Marvel Rivals updates and heroes. One of the more popular leaks was about Doctor Doom becoming playable in a future season. To be more precise, the leaks suggest that the Latverian king could be coming to the game’s roster as soon as Season 11! The community was excited to hear that, especially considering the “villain problem” that Marvel Rivals has, and not to forget that he is one of the most iconic and powerful fictional antagonists.
However, which player base should get him as a playable villain to main was a topic of debate. Looking at his model in the trailers and Gallery Cards, the community seemed to agree that he may be a Vanguard, judging by his lore-accurate “tankiness” and big character model. But new leaks from XOX LEAKS on X point toward something interesting.
As per these leaks, the character with Hero ID 1069 was added to the same multi-role file as Deadpool is in to manage his triple roles as a Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Although which hero the 1069 ID is attached to is unknown, we can speculate that it is Doctor Doom indeed.
Gorr, the God Butcher, releases in Season 10 on September 11 as the sole playable hero for the entire season, and his Hero ID is 1067. This means the Season 11 hero would have the Hero ID 1068, and be in Season 11.5 hero, the last hero releasing this year in December, will have the Hero ID 1069. Since Avengers Doomsday releases in December 2026, it would make sense for the master of magic and science to join the playable roster in Marvel Rivals at the same time as well.
If this is indeed the case and the leaks are correct, Doctor Doom will be playable for all players, no matter whether they main a Vanguard, a Duelist, or a Strategist.
