KONAMI has officially issued a strong warning to the eFootball modding community, announcing that strict action will be taken against future violations.
When KONAMI transitioned from PES to the free-to-play eFootball model, many fans turned to offline modes and community projects.
Given how players get access to unlimited coins and concept cards in modded eFootball versions, it is a no-brainer why those are popular among fans.
But now it comes to an unforeseen stop. On 23rd October 2026, KONAMI issued a strong warning with a ‘Strict Action Against Program Tampering or Analysis’ post.
Shortly after the announcement, popular names in the eFootball modding community have announced that they are stepping away from the modding scene.

KONAMI’s Warning to eFootball Modding Community
The Japanese video game company mentioned that they have identified reverse engineering instances and activities such as the distribution of modified versions.
KONAMI went on to explain what actions and activities violate the terms of service of the game. The company urged players to stop these activities immediately.
On their quest to clean up eFootball mods, the video game company asked its players to actively reach out to customer service if they come across any modified version of the game.
“Should you find any information relating to such applications or tools, please do not attempt to obtain or install them. Instead, contact customer support and provide the URL of the website or other location where the information was published,’ said KONAMI.
Players often state the lack of good events, scripts & cheats, low coin rewards, and repeated cards as the reason behind their switch from the eFootball online model to offline modded versions of the game.
As of now, what’s next for the eFootball modding community is uncertain.

The announcement from KONAMI had results right away. One of the popular names in the eFootball modding community, Durandil PES, has stated that he is stepping away from the scene. All his projects that he made for the offline players will now get shut down.
While the Japanese game company has made its stance clear with this announcement, if they want to retain the players who actively enjoyed offline modded versions, they need to make serious changes to the game.
