Everything Announced During Capcom Spotlight

Andre Custodio September 16, 2026

Capcom kicked off its Tokyo Game Show 2026 presence with a new edition of Capcom Spotlight, bringing updates on some of the biggest games in its catalog. The broadcast featured news on Pragmata, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, as well as new content for Street Fighter 6, details on Mega Man: Dual Override, and activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil.

Everything That Was Announced by Capcom

One of the biggest announcements involves Pragmata, which will receive a free Mega Man collaboration later this Wednesday (16). The ā€œMega Man Packā€ will add two sets of outfits inspired by Mega Man and Roll for Hugh and Diana, along with emotes and new music. The game has also received its first discount since launch, with 20% off for a limited time.

The Blue Bomber’s presence did not end there. Capcom shared more details about Mega Man: Dual Override, including a demonstration of Proto Man as the game’s second playable character. Director Shinya Ikuta and producer Hiroyuki Minamitani also showcased the Custom Chip and Override systems, designed to expand customization and strategic possibilities throughout the stages. The game remains scheduled for release in the first half of 2027.

Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and More

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance also received considerable attention during the presentation. The expansion will feature the return of Teostra, the Elder Dragon known for its fire and explosive attacks, and will launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

In addition to the monster, Capcom revealed the Boost Bracer, a new combat-focused feature, and confirmed several quality-of-life improvements. Players will be able to switch weapons more quickly without using a Seikret mount and change equipment through the Item Box without having to enter the tent. These changes will also be made available to players who only own the base game. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds launches on December 4, 2026.

Another highlight was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The expansion received a trailer dedicated to the story and enemies of Norgan, its new region, while players can now preview the new character creation options through the Character Creation & Storage tool. Characters can be prepared in advance, although the new options will only become available in the main game once the expansion launches.

Dark Arisen launches on October 9 for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Capcom also confirmed new official Pawns and the 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges, which will be among the content found throughout Norgan.

The broadcast also confirmed Arjun for Street Fighter 6 on October 13, alongside C. Viper’s Outfit 4. Capcom also reminded fans that Tifa from Final Fantasy VII Remake will join the roster in early 2027, while Bosch is scheduled for the second quarter of next year.

Celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil will continue with an exhibition in Tokyo, a horror attraction based on Resident Evil Requiem at Universal Studios Japan, and a series of concerts across Europe and North America. Finally, Capcom has temporarily made 23 classics available directly through Capcom Town, including Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. The games can be played for free through web browsers on PC and mobile devices until November 1.

Last Word on the TGS 2026 Capcom Spotlight

The Spotlight primarily served as an update on the release calendar Capcom has already established for the coming months. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is just weeks away from launch, Monster Hunter Wilds will still receive a Switch 2 version before the end of the year, and Ascendance is beginning to receive more concrete details ahead of 2027.

The amount of support being dedicated to games that are already available is also noteworthy. Pragmata is receiving its first crossover DLC, Monster Hunter Wilds will incorporate improvements from the new content into the base game as well, and Street Fighter 6 continues moving forward with its fourth year of characters. For those expecting major new announcements, the presentation was more restrained, but it still delivered important updates across nearly all of Capcom’s major current projects.
