Marvel Tokon open beta has now come to a close. The team behind the upcoming Marvel fighting game seems insistent on delivering the finished product on the previously disclosed release date: August 6, 2026. The open beta was available on both PC and PS5, the platforms where the game is set to launch in a week. Players across the globe who got to play the game during the trial days had mixed reviews. Some had a few complaints while others had a pile of them at the ready. While the developers are working to get those issues fixed, they also revealed the most favourite characters from the playable roster.
Marvel Tokon Players Are Favoring One Hero The Most
The playable roster for the upcoming fighting game picked up the pace pretty quickly. The beta version launched with the full 20-hero roster, loyal to five main factions. All playable characters during the open beta are listed below:

However, when the official social media account for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls narrowed down the most-picked heroes on the roster, it was a shocking revelation! Beta testers had a clear favorite on the roster, and those are listed below, starting from the most-picked hero:
- Magik
- Spider-Man
- Blade
- Doctor Doom
- Wolverine
Much like the globally sensational hero-shooter, Marvel Rivals, Magik, the mutant Queen of Limbo, has taken over the Marvel Tokon community as well. She is a strong brawler in Fighting Souls who can close the distance quickly. So, if an enemy is trying to keep you at bay with poke attacks, she can use her Stepping Discs to surprise them and deliver an unreactable combo to seal the deal, making her a valuable pick.
The full game is set to launch a week from now. Phoenix Cyclops is expected to join the roster later this year, around fall 2026, and will most likely bring some changes to however the meta is shaped by then.
