Battlefield 6 and Season 4 are heading straight into the Pacific, bringing naval combat back into the mix alongside a brand new map, fresh weapons, and a Top Gun crossover event that’s set to turn heads. This update rolls out across three phases throughout the summer, each bringing its own mix of content.

Here’s Everything Coming in Battlefield 6 Season 4
Battlefield 6 Season 4 launches July 21 at 4 a.m. PT (12 p.m. UTC) with the required Game Update 1.4.1.0, which includes:
- Water gameplay improvements
- Player movement and combat polish
- Vehicle and water interaction updates
- UI, HUD, and menu clarity fixes
- Portal Creator updates
- Audio improvements
- REDSEC and Ranked Battle Royale polish
Phase 1: Pacific Front (July 21)
This opening phase is where the naval combat comeback and the new map take center stage.
- New map, Tsuru Reef: A sprawling island chain with luxury bungalows, tropical vegetation, jagged cliffs, a dormant volcano, and wide open ocean for naval combat, co-managed by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and under siege from Pax Armata.
- Naval Warfare returns: Available first on Tsuru Reef, later expanding to Wake Island.
- 7.7m NSW RHIB: A fast, agile boat with a mounted machine gun.
- RCB-90 patrol boat: Heavily armored two-seat assault vessel with a 120mm mortar gunner seat and a 30mm autocannon plus missiles for the driver.
- New dynamic wave system: Realistic ocean physics including Natural waves and boat wakes, buoyant gadgets and underwater explosions as viable tactics, bullet penetration, limited by caliber underwater, dragging and reviving teammates while in water.
- REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale Season 2: Fresh Playercard Backgrounds, Titles, Icons, Soldier Patches, and Vehicle Decals.
- Rank-themed Brodie Soldier Skins for End of Season Rewards (Bronze, Gold, Diamond, etc.)
- Exclusive “S4 Eliminator” Soldier Skin for the #1 Elite 250 competitor.
- Three new weapons: EF88, BROD 3, VSSM
- Two new attachments: 4″ Shotgun Barrel Extension, 1p86 LPVO and 4.5x zoom levels
Phase 2: Top Gun (August 18)
This second phase brings back a classic map and throws players straight into a full aerial-themed crossover event.
- Wake Island returns: Reimagined coastal map with shoreline defense, C-4 bridge demolitions, and an offshore aircraft carrier.
- Top Gun limited time event includes: New squad unit, CJTF Helix, letting players step into Top Gun character roles, Event challenges, themed cosmetics, and a limited-time currency.
- Two new modes:
- Carrier Strike: Reworked mode requiring coordinated land, naval, and aviation squads to destroy the enemy carrier.
- Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep: Jets-only dogfights in 2-seat fighter jets.
- Two new fighter jets: F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat.
- New weapon: Interdictor: Longest range sniper in the game, built to take out pilots in their cockpits.
- Spectator Mode + Custom Lobbies – via Battlefield Portal, includes: Custom Lobbies for organizing players, managing teams, and setting rules.
- Four dedicated Spectator Mode camera slots (first-person, third-person, free cam)
- Tsuru Reef expansion: Adds playable aircraft carriers and an even bigger playspace
- Two new mid-season attachments: Canted Vertical Grip and Hybrid Suppressor.

Phase 3: Tidal Strike (September 15)
The final phase wraps up the season right around Battlefield 6’s one-year anniversary.
- Deep Six Collection Event: Earn the Royal Navy Dive Knife melee weapon
- Proximity Chat: Debuts as a Battlefield Labs in Live experience within REDSEC
- Phantom Program: Challenge to reconstruct an access code and breach Fort Lyndon’s security system

What to Expect Before Battlefield 6 Season 4 Goes Live
A few things worth keeping in mind before the Battlefield 6 Season 4 update goes live on July 21.
- This is the final weekend to finish Season 3 Battle Pass tiers, including Ultimate and Prestige paths.
- Season 4 Battle Pass and BF Pro are available for pre-purchase now.
- A community Hunt the Carrier event is running on Discord daily at 5 p.m. CEST / 8 a.m. PT through July 20, with daily clues leading toward a mystery tied to the War of 2027 and something called the “Eagle’s Stare”.
