Marvel Rivals Season 8.5 brought fresh patch notes, meaning the overall meta changed. Some heroes got buffed, some got nerfed, while others remained unchanged. This power shift often leads to some heroes being “broken”, being effective in their respective classes, and being the best at what they do. This is a vastly subjective topic, affected by the rank, server, and skill of the players. Keeping that in mind, let’s jump into the list, ranked from top to bottom.

Most Broken Heroes in Marvel Rivals Season 8.5
1. Gambit
Le Diable Blanc himself. One of the best Strategists in the game. Despite the several nerfs he has gotten across many patches, he remains one of the top ban picks in mid to high elo. Gambit has good damage potential, anti-dive capabilities, and an outstanding healing output. Not to forget his cleanse, which can make almost any vanguard look like a fool for even trying to ult the team.
2. Black Cat
A typical Marvel Rivals player would think that she may be back to normal now that she has been nerfed. However, the nerf she got in the most recent patch only toned down Felicia’s “dash” ability. One of the most broken parts of her kit remains standing: her Phantom Pursuit and “cleanse self bubble”. One makes her invincible while delivering ranged damage; on the other hand, the bubble helps her escape hard CC, including Hulk’s “exile”, which even Gambit can’t cleanse.
3. Rogue
Anna Marie may look like a harmless brawler, but Rogue mains are waiting for you to undermine them just so they can surprise you. Rogue is a 1v1 demon, meaning if you are in a fight with her with no help in sight, do NOT stand your ground. Even in team fights, she is mostly unkillable. Her hitbox is smaller than that of other male brawler Vanguards. On the other hand, she has good movement and damage. Ever since her block got buffed, Rogue players have been more fearless.
4. Elsa Bloodstone
The “power creep” allegations started with Elsa Bloodstone. She is a huntress who channels the Bloodstone’s powers to hunt down monsters. But she has no business standing ground against the Hulk and the Norse God of Thunder – Thor. Elsa has incredible poke damage, superior movement to any other ranged character in the game, and an Ultimate Ability that has the potential to turn the tide of any team fight.
5. Luna Snow
Undoubtedly, the poster child of Marvel Rivals. Although she is typically not “the most” broken hero, the main reason that makes her earn her spot here is the fact that she is supposed to be a Strategist, a class whose primary objective is to heal. The only Strategists in the game right now who deserve to have good damage are Mantis, Adam Warlock, and Ultron, considering all three of them are “off healers” who are better in triple support team comps. Luna Snow, however, has one of the best healing outputs, a self damage boost, a solid hard CC, a passive ability that lets her get back to the objective from her spawn fairly quickly, and an Ultimate Ability which can make or break a team fight.
