Doom The Dark Ages is back with the new Revelations DLC. The base game officially came out last year on May 15th. In June 2026, Bethesda officially announced the game’s first major expansion. The story is now picking up where The Dark Ages campaign left off. However, the plot is not the only reason to dive into Revelations. The upcoming DLC is packed with content you might not have seen coming. Let’s explore all that has been confirmed so far.

Doom The Dark Ages Revelations New Content Announced
Weapons
While the Doom Slayer will have access to his usual arsenal of weapons, he won’t be using his shield as his secondary weapon, at least at the start of the DLC. Instead, he will be given a brand new Chain Spear! Players will wield the new weapon in the left hand of the Slayer and will be able to use it in a variety of ways. Just like the original shield in the base game’s campaign, players will be able to block and interrupt enemy projectiles using the Chain Spear. Additionally, the trailer shows the chain deflecting the projectiles. Players will also be able to use it as a hook, just like the shotgun hook in Doom Eternal, allowing them to gain more movement amidst combat. More weapons are also expected to be added to the game when the DLC finally drops, expanding the Slayer’s ever-increasing arsenal.
Maps
As per the trailer, there will be at least five new biomes in the DLC expansion that the fans of the series can visit during gameplay, including a “frozen” section, which appears quite eye-catching for Doom’s existing aesthetic. In the trailer for Doom The Dark Ages Revelations DLC, we can also see the classic Doom game labyrinth map return, along with the classic shotgun. Perhaps some of his memories will be “revealed” during the story expansion as well.
Release Date & Price
The upcoming DLC will be available starting July 7, 2026. Gamers living in regions with UTC + 7 and higher time zones will get it on 8th July instead. As far as the price goes, those who own the Standard Edition of the base game can separately purchase the expansion for $19.99. Alternatively, they can also upgrade to the Premium Edition for $34.99 instead. Those who already own the Premium Edition of the game will be able to download the expansion for free!
