What’s New in Clash of Clans Global Chat?
The Reveal
The reveal of Global Chat’s return to Clash of Clans came through a YouTube video from Supercell, where the team explained the new elements being introduced as part of the social experiment.
For starters, there are Groups, which are basically player-created spaces for your crew and the clan. These Groups can be closed, invite-only, or public. Moreover, the chat space will feature reactions, stickers, profiles, QR links, and so much more. At the beginning, the Groups can have up to 800 members maximum.
When your Groups are big enough, they will evolve into Communities. These huge spaces can have 50,000 members maximum. However, the message history in Communities lasts only 12 hours.
Then comes the Town Square! From worldwide moments to sneak peeks, everything important happens in the Town Square. Every Clash of Clans player will already be included in the Town Square. However, only selected ambassadors, creators, and community managers can post in the Town Square.
Alongside these new additions to Clash of Clans Global Chat, Supercell has implemented an improved safety system aimed at providing a better experience for players.
What’s Next for Global Chat in Clash of Clans?
Supercell emphasized that this is only the first version of the Clash of Clans Global Chat. The feature will be rolled out gradually to all players, and based on community feedback, future updates are expected to make it even more exciting and engaging.
Following this major announcement, Supercell has postponed several in-game events, including Clan War League and the Football Fury temporary troops event, to ensure everything is in place for a smooth rollout of Global Chat.
