Bandai Namco Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment have officially unveiled a first look at Shadow Labyrinth—a genre-bending, alternate vision of the legendary PAC-MAN franchise. Slated for release on July 18, 2025, the game will launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

Inside the Maze: Breaking Down the Shadow Labyrinth Trailer

The trailer opens with a strange, unsettling moment. Black mist pours from Swordsman No.8’s face as Puck floats nearby—dark, massive, and watching. The mist swirls in the air, drawn toward Puck, who seems to feed off it or awaken because of it.

Puck hovers ominously, seemingly about to devour the shattered remains of a robot. The scene shifts into gameplay, with Puck chomping down on ghosts and revealing a new maze within the game.

We cut to Swordsman No.8 himself, now standing and looking up at a bizarre creature called Ghost Bug. The trailer snaps back to gameplay, showing Ghost Bug as a glowing, red-and-blue monster. After a fierce battle, Swordsman No.8 defeats it and enters a swirling blue portal, shifting again into the Labyrinth.

Quick glimpses of new monsters flash by—some can even transform into ghosts. Puck is seen leaping from one jump pad to the next before landing on the ever-shifting main map, where different segments move dynamically. Another new threat appears: a green ghostly creature joins the usual lineup of massive spectral foes.

The pace slows briefly as we see a new, woodsy map outside of gameplay, wrapped in mist. Here, Puck reverts back into Swordsman No.8. The trailer surges forward again, revealing a glowing orb firing lasers at the swordsman. Out of nowhere, a huge blue toad-like monster stomps into frame. Only to be obliterated by a surprise blast from a purple laser.

Everything builds toward one final moment: Swordsman No.8 and Puck standing side by side, gazing up at a towering structure. Ships float in the sky, the moon looms above, and the trees stand quietly below.
