All eyes are on Geoff Keighley as he hosts another Summer Game Fest on Friday June 6th at 5pm ET (2pm PT). The gaming community has high hopes and anticipation for what promises to be a showcase of massive reveals and unexpected surprises. The live show has been a staple in the gaming industry since 2020 following the cancellation of popular events such as E3 and Gamescom during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Within this article we’ll dive into what highly anticipated games are likely to show up during the broadcast. Earlier this week, Summer Game Fest announced its partners for the show. This grants us a sneak peak as to what titles have a chance at showing up next week.

Summer Game Fest 2025 Predicted Game Announcements

Final Fantasy

Many fans believe that with the recent success of the Final Fantasy franchise, that we’re likely to see the reveal of the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. Almost three years ago to the day, developers actively revealed Rebirth, the second game in the series. With the core of the game intact since Rebirth, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the finale of this behemoth of a franchise revealed along with a release date.

Pivoting away from the remakes, Square Enix have an opportunity to shock the gaming industry with a teaser for Final Fantasy 17. While there has not been evidence to suggest this game is even in development, the thought of a new installment to the franchise excites fans of the series.

Kingdom Hearts 4

Square Enix may not only reveal information about the Final Fantasy franchise. Kingdom Hearts 4 has been in development for years and Summer Game Fest may be a great opportunity to reveal the release date. Originally announced in April of 2022, longtime fans of the series have been patiently waiting for more details about this blockbuster release.

Resident Evil

Speculation is abundant surrounding Capcom and Summer Game Fest. The Resident Evil franchise has a storied history with a massive and dedicated fanbase. Recent rumors circulating social platforms about potential remakes such as Resident Evil 5, Code: Veronica or even a new rendition of Resident Evil 1. It’s been over 4 years since Resident Evil Village made its debut and it would be the perfect time to add another title to this franchise. Whatever happens, fans of the series would take just about anything to satiate their need to tackle the undead and paranormal.

Wolverine

Since the announcement during the PlayStation Showcase back in 2021, we have not received much of a follow-up. Insomniac’s pedigree with the Spider-Man franchise on PlayStation 5 has been met with an overwhelmingly positive reception. With great character development, storytelling and gameplay mechanics it truly makes you feel like Spider-Man. Comic book fans alike are hopeful that this will translate to the Wolverine title to blend great character work with brutal, grounded combat.

Kojima Greatness

According to Summer Game Fest’s official X account, video game great Hideo Kojima will take the stage throughout the broadcast. Kojima’s latest title Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to release on the 26th of June this year. It’s safe to assume that we’ll receive some more information about the title, whether it be more story beats or more cast announcements.

Death Stranding isn’t the only title that Kojima Productions is currently developing. During the Game Awards in 2023 he teased his new experimental title OD to the world. During the reveal, Kojima revealed that he is working alongside director Jordan Peele to create an experience surrounding fear.

Kojima has also teased development of another game working in tandem with Sony and Columbia Pictures to create an interactive game titled Physint. It will be an action-espionage experience using cutting-edge technology along with world-class talent in the film and gaming industry.
