This Among Us 3D Steam Deck guide will discuss how well the title is optimised for the portable console. For a refresh like this, one expects things to go smoothly but the Steam Deck can sometimes fall down the priority list and end up being a functioning but badly optimised experience, which is where I come in. Among Us 3D is exactly what it says on the tin, a reskinned version of the hit game, brought to life in 3D, despite the success of the original game this one has been met by fairly mixed receptions over on Steam.

Among Us 3D Steam Deck Performance Analysis
The game generally launches without issue which is often a good sign for game’s on the portable console. Some players have noted that they have to switch to experimental Proton but usually there are no problems with launching on the Steam Deck.
Visually, the device is fully capable of running the game. It looks good, it doesn’t lag even on higher resolutions and graphical settings, and it won’t burn through the battery life of the console.
Where the problems do come in for Among Us 3D on the portable device is the controls. The game’s controls have not been mapped adequately to the joystick layout of the Steam Deck. Some button presses require going into the settings option to activate the back bumpers to hit a space bar input. This is a pretty big issue for players and makes it very awkward to play the game with enough speed and ability to play properly.
While the game does run very well on the Steam Deck, it does still have issues that will have to be updated by the developers. Button mapping should be first on the agenda as the rest of the game works pretty perfectly and will only need much slower and lesser updates to fix things.
