The biggest new addition is the arrival of crossplay. With how connected NBA 2K has become and the growing emphasis on online play even in single-player modes, it was a needed move to bring in crossplay. This will allow people on different consoles to play together and against one another to pit the best of the best against one another.
We also know the games’ cover stars. The 25th anniversary of 2K is a celebration of Kobe Bryant so he dons the cover on the standard edition and a special Bryant-themed edition. He is joined by New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu who is the cover star of the WNBA edition, a move that was met with some criticism due to the dominance of A’Ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart in recent years.
NBA 2K24 Release Date
There is no official release date as of this writing, although there is speculation we could see a September drop from the new game. NBA 2K23 released on September 8, so we have just over a month still to go to reach that same time.
NBA 2K24 Ratings
As of now, we have no new ratings revealed for the game. There is a lot of speculation out there about potential gains and losses with some wondering whether LeBron James can retain his place as one of the premiere players in the league or if the new generation starts to overtake him.
Victor Wembanyama
This once-in-a-lifetime prospect was drafted first overall by the San Antonio Spurs this year. One of the biggest reasons to get NBA 2K24 right now is to play as an official version of Victor Wembanyama. There has been no indication of what rating he will receive off the bat but many speculators believe he will be a mid to high 80 overall as a rookie.
