Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced PS5 Pro Enhancements Detailed

Varun June 30, 2026

Ubisoft seems to be sparing no effort to make Black Flag Resynced a remake that puts the franchise back on the map after a relatively successful outing with Shadows last year. Indeed, it’s even gone as far as to add missions that connect the latter to the storyline that we’ve come to know so well thanks to Edward’s natural charm and charisma.

Black Flag Resynced On The PS5 Pro Is Looking Quite Good

From The Caribbean, With Love

Edward’s journey from an irresponsible pirate to one of the most prolific Assassins to grace the Brotherhood’s ranks is definitely a great example of Assassin’s Creed’s past glory, with a story and gameplay loop that had most of us spending hours scouring the Caribbean’s many islands for secrets, loot, and, of course, more adventures. While the remake is all set to refine that experience and make it a version of the game that might be quite hard to put down, playing it on your PS5 Pro might make getting lost in it that much easier.

In a post on PlayStation Blog, Ubisoft has detailed how Sony’s mid-gen powerhouse is all set to bring the lands and seas to your screens in all their glory, with ray-traced reflections, global illuminations, and a bevy of improvements made possible by Sony’s latest version of PSSR all working under the hood to bring the world you explore to life. If you prefer the short version, we’re happy to tell you that playing Resynced on the PS5 Pro brings a world that doesn’t rely on the original version’s pre-rendered inputs, instead relying on a more dynamic version of the Anvil Engine that powered Shadows to make the world respond to you as you explore it. With better strand technology for the hair on character models, a ray-traced take on both indoor and outdoor environments, and a cleaner, sharper image no matter what mode you’re playing it on, this one’s looking like it’s built to dazzle.

The effort to make Resynced click might be more than just an effort to modernise a beloved title from the franchise’s past inventory, though. We’ve had some ideas about that, and we’d encourage you to dive into why this one might be a make-or-break release for Ubisoft as it struggles to regain the momentum it has lost over the years.
