Coming off a clean sweep in the Swiss stage, FaZe looked poised for a deep run. But The MongolZ had other plans.

Map 1: Mirage (13–9 The MongolZ)

FaZe entered strong, but early momentum quickly shifted as The MongolZ punished their slow rotations. Star rifler 910 took control of the map with confident entries and smart utility usage, posting 22 kills and closing out the final rounds with back-to-back multi-frags. FaZe struggled to recover from a 5-round losing streak, and The MongolZ secured the opener.

Map 2: Anubis (13–11 The MongolZ)

Anubis was expected to favor FaZe, who had shown dominant control on the map during the Swiss stage. But once again, The MongolZ read their setups perfectly. Clutch performances by Senzu, who racked up 14 assists and critical utility damage, helped dismantle FaZe’s post-plant holds.

Even with ropz leading a late resurgence for FaZe, The MongolZ held their nerve. A stunning 2v4 retake on match point sealed the map and the series.

Match Stats Highlights

  • 910: 40 kills across both maps, +15 K/D
  • Senzu: 14 assists, 2 clutch rounds
  • FaZe: 6 total timeouts used though none led to a momentum shift

What This Means

The MongolZ now move on to the semifinals, where they’ll face the winner of Team Spirit vs. MOUZ. For FaZe, the loss is a bitter end to what looked like a promising Major run.

This win cements The MongolZ not just as a fan-favorite underdog, but as a legitimate threat in the top tier of CS2.
