Two teams with much-anticipated player debuts in MPL Philippines Season 16 face-off during day 1 as Aurora Philippines with its new roamer Light fought off against Team Falcons with Ferdz taking the EXP lane role. In the end, it was Falcons who dominated after winning two games to nothing.

Game 1: Falcons clinch close fight win
It was a close fight between the two teams all throughout game 1. Aurora took the early game, overpowering Falcons with a 6-3 kill score. The team kept the momentum till the mid game after a solid 11-4 kill score, as well as a 10,000-gold lead and destroying all 9 towers of the side of Falcons.

But a complete turnaround took place when Ferdz using Cici provided clutch plays, forcing Aurora to be back on their base and eventually defend it. Falcons, however, got the final Lord dance, winning it all with a final kill score of 14 against the 12 of Aurora.
Game 2: Sweep for the team in green
The same story as game 1, game 2 opened with a close fight, with Falcons now having a slight lead and listing a 5-4 kill score in the early and mid-stages of the game. Ferdz continued his Cici prowess after contributing 3 kills, while his roamer Owgwen using Gatotkaca outplayed Aurora with his positioning and calls. This led to a final kill score of 10-7 in favor of Falcons, giving them the match victory.
