There’s a problem almost right off the bat for a lot of players with the game either not launching or crashing before it can start. This is one of the issues Deck users run into a lot with F2P titles as they usually require some anti-cheat systems that aren’t native to the deck. If you have this issue you can try different versions of Proton and downloading newer versions from GitHub but it can be trial and error to get into the game.
Unfortunately, even for those who have launched the game there are some issues with the videos running and crashes after the intro. There’s also reports of the text being difficult to read and a full screen mode not being optomised for the device.
If you’re tech-savvy enough and lucky enough to get the correct version of ProtonGE and avoid the crashes then the game does work pretty seamlessly. There’s no intense visual lag, no controller input problems etc.
All in all, this is one of the more frustrating games to get if you’re not fairly savvy with the Steam Deck and know what you’re doing. It’s best to download and give it a shot before diving in for a full gaming session just in case you encounter some crashes. If you’re in the know and can get the right setup to make it launch seamlessly then this is one that you’ll be able to play without much issue.
