Trailer Breakdown: Star Wars Zero Company
The trailer opens on a shadow-drenched planet, most of it cloaked in darkness. Slowly, the camera begins to shift—gliding across the screen until a small spaceship comes into view, cutting through the void as it heads straight for the darkened world below.
Inside the cockpit, we catch a glimpse of a droid pilot—flipping switches, tapping buttons—readying the ship as new coordinates light up the display. Over this, a monologue begins, one that reflects on the major beats of the Clone Wars: planetary invasions, all-out assaults, cities reduced to rubble. But then, the voice pivots: there are parts of war we don’t even see— “the war beneath the war.”
A man appears, watching flickering holograms of old battle droids. “War is won with the right strategy,” the narrator states, just as we cut to close-ups of a sniper rifle, a white astromech droid, and a cluster of thermal detonators.
We see a clone trooper—half-shrouded in shadow—sitting across from droid legs. This is Trick, quiet, calculating, and clearly waiting for something. Then the camera pans to a figure in armor: green helmet, spear in hand. This is Luco Bronc, and a closer shot reveals him to be human, his presence immediately commanding.
“These aren’t the heroes they tell stories about,” the narrator continues. A shot of Trick’s armored legs. Then, a slow turn of his head.
“They are professionals.”
We return to Luco Bronc, his eyes sharp and unsettling, carrying the weight of experience—and something darker.
A ship bursts from hyperspace, soaring into cloudy skies. The camera closes in on a lightsaber. Then, a masked figure appears, meditating like the Jedi of old. This is Tel-Rea Vokoss—calm, focused, and enigmatic.
Cut to another figure adjusting her Beskar armor with methodical precision—this is Cly Kullervo, a Mandalorian warrior with quiet resolve and battle-hardened poise.
We’re back inside the ship, now fully introduced to the squad: Cly, Tel-Rea, Luco, Trick, and the astromech. The white droid rolls forward. A close-up of a man with a blaster flashes across the screen.
The team exits the ship in unison. Quick glimpses from different angles tease the dynamic between the five—each one distinct, each one dangerous.
And then, Tel-Rea Vokoss ignites a green lightsaber—revealing herself as a Jedi. The squad charges into action, running and flying off the ship into a raging battle against waves of battle droids.
Who are the characters?
First up is Hawks, the squad’s leader and the character players will take control of. He leads the Zero Company, an elite-for-hire unite made up of wildly skilled and even more unique operatives. A disgraced former Captain in the Grand Army of the Republic, Hawks is fully customizable, from appearance and voice to name and species.
Then there’s Trick, known by other troopers as CT-3301. Trick is a battle-hardened clone trooper who served alongside Hawks during the war and never left his side. Loyal, sharp, and always rolling the dice, Trick’s got a thing for chance whether it’s cards, bets, or walking straight into danger with a grin.
Joining the squad is Tel-Rea Vokoss, a Tognath Jedi Padawan driven by quiet resolve and razor-sharp discipline. She fights to honor the legacy of her fallen Jedi Master, carrying that purpose into every mission she takes on with Zero Company.
Luco Bronc joins the roster as a sharp-tongued fighter with a serious grudge. During the Clone Wars, he helped defend his home world of Umbara from a Republic invasion. But he hasn’t forgotten it. While he’s got no love for the Republic, Bronc’s willing to put old grudges aside… for now.
The infamous Cly Kullervo is one of the last survivors of the ancient Mandalorian Clan Verminoth. She joins Zero Company fueled by a single goal: revenge.
