With the release of No Rest for The Wicked comes a rush to see how the title plays on the new Steam Deck. Some games take a lot of time to receive updates for the Deck, especially in an Early Access state so I’ll be biting the bullet for curious minds this time and provide a Steam Deck performance review. Despite still being in Early Access and having a mixed reception this title has shot up the Steam charts boasting at least 12,000 different players.

No Rest for The Wicked Steam Deck Performance Review – How Well Does it Play?

The game requires a limit of 30 fps. Despite that, it still has visual blips and quality drops in both gameplay and cutscenes. You can make graphical adjustments to minimise these issues but it is far from optimised for Steam Deck.

Gameplay wise it does suffer from lag, there is a delay in inputs on occasion and some text is really difficult to read on the smaller screen. Many Steam Deck users have also reported that the game crashes frequently, especially following the tutorial.

For now, it seems it is best to avoid this game if you’re a Steam Deck user. Hopefully as it edges nearer to a full release there will be some optimisation offered.
