The process of collecting sand is rather tedious as you have to break open boulders using the stone hammer and collect the sediment that is left. There are enough boulders in the way that you can rack up sand pretty easily but that won’t be music to some people’s ears.

Other methods like trying to buy some via a Guild Fair or by trailing another online player as they play and pick up any bags of sand they may drop if they don’t want it have been floated by players. This is of course a much less reliable method of gathering this material so I would recommend sticking to the dev intended aim of breaking the available stones.
