Top 5 Best Young Right Backs to Sign

Reece James

Obvious starting point but Reece James is one of the world’s finest right backs despite his age. Only the elite clubs in world football will be able to pry him away from Chelsea in-game but if you do, you’ve got that position sorted for the foreseeable future.

Pedro Porro

Tottenham Hotspurs defender Porro is a high ability, high potential RB in FM24, an investment worth making if you have the funds.

Jeremie Frimpong

With high potential, Bundesliga star Frimpong is an excellent young RB to pick up if you can get him. His asking price will be high but looking at his statistics and his potential, he is more than worth the fee.

Mohamed Simakan

The RB family of clubs continues to be a producer of great talents with Simakan joining their long list of names. He’s a great tackler, he’s pacey, he’s got strong mental attributes and he has the potential to get even better.

Aaron Hickey

Brentford standout Hickey will come with a very high cost due to his Premier League experience. He’s got the potential in-game to become one of the best right backs in the world which makes him a tasty acquisition.

Best Young Right Backs in Football Manager 2024 – Affordable/Budget

Max Aarons

He may be stretching the definition of “affordable” but it would be wrong to leave out Max Aarons considering a number of top sides can afford him. He currently plays for Bournemouth and FM23 players will recognise him for his ability in that game, this has carried over to FM24 thanks to his big move to the top flight.

Martim Fernandes

Porto and the Portuguese league continues to be one of the best places to farm young talent. Fernandes is only 17 so he’s a project but he’s got elite potential and good base stats to become a top tier RB.

Antoine Mendy

OGC Nice have one of the best young squads in the game this year and Mendy is another player they have stashed away for a rainy day. His starting ability isn’t great so he will need to be developed but he is only 19 so there’s a lot of time to see him blossom into a great talent.

Sergio Carreira

Currently playing for Elche in Spain, Carreira won’t join the elite tier of right backs but he’s got good potential and a strong build. He’s a good crosser, good defender, and athletic. With time to grow his skills he will no doubt be a useful full back for any team.

Guille Rosas

Like Carreira, Rosas may never be the best RB in the world but he will be on a level just beneath them. His crossing and ball carrying skills could do with improvements but his stamina is incredible as his his tackling ability and bravery. He will run and run until the game ends which is just the kind of energy some tactics need.
