Brotato Old Build

Character Type

The old build completely warps the in-game experience making it one of the most interesting characters that we’ve seen so far. It lives up to the name at least. It decreases player speed by 10% which is relatively obvious given the name.

On the more intriguing side it makes the actual map 33% smaller, makes the game spawn 10% fewer enemies, decreases enemy speed by 25% and increases harvesting by 10. While it does make the character slower it does make things a tad easier, at the cost of fewer enemies meaning fewer materials are likely to drop.

Tool

Pick the wrench tool as it allows you to spawn turrets that deal 10 damage each. Turrets will form the entire backbone of your strategy as these can take down the slower enemies without exposing the old build’s own lack of speed. The wrench can also be used to melee defend yourself but its most obvious strength is turret-building.

Upgrades

Unsurprisingly, as turrets are your main form of offence, engineering is the biggest skill to focus on upgrading. In addition, get some added Harvesting to compliment the +10 boost given to the Old character to make up for the lack of enemies.

Max HP, Regen and armour are good to boost on the defensive end so you can withstand attacks if you do get swarmed by enemies, even though that’s relatively unlikely with this build.

Items

Items that further slow your enemies are ones to focus on. Keeping them from surrounding you and overwhelming you is the key to winning with the Old Build so every little helps.

Unlocks

Winning with this Brotato old build will unlock the Snail which replicates the effects of this build by making enemies 5% slower and the player character 3% slower when used.
