Brotato Ranger Build

Character Type

As the name may suggest the ranger gets some nice boosts to ranged combat skills. You start with +50 range and a pistol, throughout the game any ranged damage mods will receive a boost of 50% which is inarguably the Ranger’s biggest impact.

To counteract those positives you are not allowed to equip melee weapons and Max HP mods are reduced by 25% throughout the game.

Weapons

You get one pistol to start regardless but choose to begin with another pistol. Keep building up your pistol numbers before throwing in an MP pistol and the Shredder.

Having more pistols will help you deal with cooldown while your character boost increases its range at base so it’s a decently easy weapon to build a strategy around.

Upgrades

It’s best to make sure you get some Max HP and armor boosts to combat tougher enemies while improving attack speed and ranged damage. It’s always useful to boost the critical percentages but that’s one of the less important stats for this build specifically.

Increasing ranged damage through the mod buff and attack speed will have you mowing down enemies before long due to your rate of fire and increased damage capabilities.

Items

There aren’t always great recommendations for items but ones that deal penetration damage are very useful for the ranger. Pick up some of these as they come and you should see the added benefit before long.

Unlocks

Beating a run with the Ranger build unlocks Night Goggles. These boost critical chances by 15% and increase range by 50 while taking away 3 Max HP and 2 from Armor. An interesting item that could be of use to some future builds.
