F1 23 New Features – What’s New
Upgraded Gameplay
As one might expect EA got to work on improving the general gameplay in the newest installment. There’s currently no telling how much more polished the driving will be but the handling, speed, and traction are said to have been improved this time around.
Precision Drive
This year the developers have made a big change to the diving so those using normal controllers should feel the same seamless experience as those using a wheel controller. If implemented correctly this should reduce any oversteering issues the analog sticks caused but again, we won’t know how effective it is until the actual release.

New Race Distance
The Formula 1 titles have always given players the ability to play through less laps than an actual race, after all who wants to spend a real-life hour doing 50 laps of a track. This year there is a new addition to the race distances as there is now a 35% race option to plug the gap between the 25% and 50% race length. This is in addition to the usual lengths like 3 and 5-lap sprints.
Red Flags
This could be a real game changer. The red flag makes its way back into F1 video games. Of all the F1 23 new features this is the one we are most excited about. A red flag can completely change the flow and direction of a race as everyone restarts on equal terms, leads are wiped out, plans are forced to change, and even the best drivers are tested. We can’t wait to see this one in action.
