If you’re looking for a powerful solo endgame build for PvE in Destiny 2, the hunter class can provide some great options. In this guide, we’ll be focusing on a solar build that utilizes the Exotic bow Verglas Curve, legendary pulse rifle BxR-55 Battler, and exotic gauntlet armor Athrys’s Embrace. With the right setup of solar fragments and mods, you can unleash devastating solar damage and maximize your ability to stay alive and deal damage in solo lost sector runs.

PVE Solar Hunter Build Guide
First up, let’s talk about the weapons. The Verglas Curve is a new Exotic bow from the Lightfall expansion that fires arrows that can freeze enemies. The perk it contains Hail Barrage – grants Stasis arrows that can lead to your next hip-fire shot firing all of them in a single volley. The other perk, Hail Storm, enables Stasis arrows to freeze targets on contact and create Stasis crystals when affecting the environment. This makes it a great weapon for dealing with groups. You can freeze them and take them out one by one as well as deal massive amounts of damage.
Following up the bow, we have the BxR-55 Battler. A legendary pulse rifle that can roll with a number of different perks, but for this build, we recommend looking for one with the Demolitionist and Incandescent perks. Demolitionist will give back your grenades for constant grenade spams with every kill. Incandescent will spread scorch to other targets, potentially igniting them and turning an entire group of ads into a ball of fire.
Now let’s talk about the armor. Athrys’s Embrace is an exotic gauntlet armor piece that has a unique perk called Skittering Stinger. This gives your Weighted Knife a second bounce with greatly increased tracking. Rapid precision hits with your weapons grant Weighted Knife a significant damage bonus and the ability to stun unshielded combatants for a short time. Scoring 3 Precision Hits within 2.5 seconds of each grants Strengthened Throwing Knife for 10 seconds and any additional Precision Hits increase buff duration by 5 seconds each, up to 30 seconds. The Empowered Weighted Knife is strong against Unstoppable Champions.. This is a great perk for dealing with tough enemies.
The Solar Fragments
Next up, let’s talk about the solar aspects and fragments. For this build, we recommend focusing on the Knock em Down and On Your Mark aspects. Fragment wise, consider using embers prioritizing radiance, powered melee attacks, and scorch stacks. Fragments like Ember of Empyrean, Solace, Singeing, Torches, and Eruption are perfect synergizers. Singeing will give you a chance to recharge abilities faster as you hit targets with BxR. Torches will cause enemies killed by your solar powered melee to become radiant. With Empyrean extending the radiant duration, you will be a walking sun.
With the fragments in place, let’s talk about the mods. For this build, we recommend prioritizing resilience mods. You will want to be able to take hits and stay alive in solo lost sector runs. We also recommend using melee and grenade kickstart mods. This will increase your ability to use your knives and solar grenades for constant scorch/ignition damage. Finally, we recommend using solar siphon mods to enhance your ability to generate orbs and keep those kickstart mods going.
Putting It All Together
With this all in mind, how do you put all of this together? Start by hip firing the Verglas Curve using Hail Barrage. Once the enemies are frozen, use your BxR-55 Battler on ads and your knife on stronger foes. Make sure to slot in mods that prioritize resilience, kickstart mods for grenades and melee, and solar weapon surge to maximize damage output.
