MLB The Show 23 – How to Pitch Better

Target The Corners

Despite whatever indications the game may be giving you about hot spots and cold zones the best pitcher will try to target the corners as much as possible. This makes it much harder for the batter to get clean connection and leads to an easier out for your team.

Work the Count

Pitchers can throw up to three bad balls before walking a pitcher, in my estimation it’s always useful tot throw in the occasional pitch outside the strike zone to keep the batter guessing, if done well, you can even bait the batter into swinging at a bad pitch which will likely end with you getting them out.

Work on Timing

You HAVE TO perfect the timing of your pitches to make sure they get thrown accurately. Head to the practice zone to work on this as much as you need to get this right. Sloppiness will be punished in the majors, especially against better batters.
