Pokemon fans rejoice – Gen 9 is coming! Announced during Pokemon Presents, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be arriving (fingers crossed) in late 2022.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Everything We Know So Far

There aren’t many details about the games yet, but it’s a big boost for Pokemon, with many players still stuck into Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which was released on the 28th of January 2022.

Another Open World Game?

Scarlet and Violet will have an open world, but that’s about all we know so far. You can see the trailer here, which gives us a glimpse of what we can expect the game to look like. We also know there will be new starter Pokemon, which are always welcome.

What Else Was Announced at Pokemon Presents?

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be getting an update, ‘Daybreak’, available to download for free later today (27th February 2022), which will provide players with a new quest to play.

There will also be a new animated series, set in the Hisui region, coming later this year.

Plus, there’s a big update coming for Pokemon Go, with new Pokemon (from the Alola region, in the Sun and Moon era) arriving on March 1st. Pokemon Unite players can also enjoy some new features, including ‘fury battles’, and players that log in today (27th February 2022) will get limited edition Pokemon Day gear for their characters to wear.
