The Palworld: Side by Side update is scheduled to release in winter this year, according to a recent announcement by developer Pocketpair on Steam. It will be the next big update after the Palworld × RuneScape: Dragonwilds collaboration in September.
Palworld has been on a roll since its full version release on July 10, 2026. Having exited the Early Access phase, the game averages between 30,000 to 50,000 concurrent players. Major expansions and content updates cause the player count to touch the 90,000 mark.
Palworld: Side by Side Update Announced for Winter 2026
Pocketpair made the big announcement on the Palworld Steam page. The exact release date wasn’t revealed, but players can expect the update to arrive around Christmas.
“We have an exciting announcement! Our next update, ”Palworld: Side by Side,” is officially coming in Winter 2026!”
Apart from the update news, the developers disclosed the results of a global popularity poll. Both Pals and trainers were part of the poll, which noted the fan favorites in the game.
Beginning in September, the Pals poll ended with Sekhmet taking the crown, and Solenne and Chillet getting the runner-up and third place, respectively. Sekhmet is a Ground-type Palmon that is extremely useful in building because of its Handiwork and Mining levels. Mostly due to its proficiency, it gained 49,637 votes in the poll.
The character poll ended with Zoe bagging first place, followed by Auri and Saya. Zoe received a massive 133,221 votes, and she left behind Auri (114,226 votes) and Saya (85,957 votes) with a massive margin.
Last Word on Palworld: Side by Side update
Pocketpair shared a teaser image featuring three silhouetted characters alongside the results of their 2026 Global Popularity Poll. Since there were only three Pals, the Side by Side update may not make many additions to the roster. Pocketpair has been introducing Pals at monthly intervals to give players sufficient time to collect and train them for battle.
Most details of the Palworld: Side by Side update remain under wraps. That being said, the developers are ready to unleash more Palmons sometime between December 2026 and early 2027.
