Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC Announced

Kaif Ali June 21, 2026

Insomniac released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a PS5 exclusive title back in October 2023. More than a year later, the game got ported to PC in January 2025. The community, which was faithful to the first Spider-Man game released on PS4 in 2018, had expectations from the sequel. In some aspects, Spider-Man 2 delivered the expectations, while in other areas, it had its shortcomings. However, a major point of disappointment among fans was the lack of DLC post-launch. But even nearly three years after its initial release, the team has a DLC ready for the players to download.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC Takes Fans By Surprise

Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit the theatres on July 31, 2026. Recently, the world got to see another trailer for the upcoming film, where we got to see more of Peter Parker’s mutation. The trailer also shows the return of the “savage” Hulk that everyone has been waiting for. More importantly, we have another cleaner look at Tom Holland’s new suit in the movie, which seems more comic-accurate than the past ones so far. To celebrate the movie and the new suit, Insomniac will be dropping a small DLC.

Players who own a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or are subscribed to the PS Plus Extra tier, will be able to find this new suit in-game starting July 28th, three days before the movie release. The suit hits home with the classic colors and a design reminiscent of the “Classic Suit” from the first game, when Peter Parker goes to fight Kingpin in the opening segment.

Unfortunately, Spider-Man 2 still has no story expansion DLCs. When the game first came out, there were rumors about a potential Silk, Venom, and even Daredevil playable DLC! Much to everyone’s surprise, we got no story expansions whatsoever, probably because of the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game which is in its final stages at Insomniac Games, read to hit your PS5 consoles in September 2026.
